Madrix doesn't find FX5 (digital enlightment) Interface

Post by xotix »

Hi,

I got an FX5. It works. Its Test.exe works with my little 2x2 Matrix and also i can controll it via DMX Control together with my FX5. But somehow, Madrix doesn't find it when scanning, so I'm not able to use Madrix.

How can i correctly "install" my interface? Documentation didn't help.

Did you enable the interface in the Preferences->Options Dialog at the Devices (USB/PCI) Tab ?

Yea. Tried it with all drivera enabled and just the dig. Enlightment driver. The win driver is strange. It does recognize my interface as USB DMX but doesn't say dnlightment etc. I installed it with the official drivers. Anyway i don't know what's wrong.

if the system did not recognize the device right MADRIX has no chance.
So i recommand to get in contact with digital enlightment if they have a solution.

The FX5 is recognized as:
Human Interface Device
->HID-compliant Device
->USB Input Device

So Windows does get it. Somehow it seems to be some standard thing. Anyway, i think its properly installed since it works with DMXC and its test.exe.

It's logically that Madrix can't find if it windows doesn't know it, but it does. Also, DMX Control does find it. And i think there isn't a lot of magic behind DMXC.

SO Madrix should be able to find it. How does Madrix look for it?

I'm just a bit confused because the inf file does specify some infos which aren't listed if i check the details of the device in the device manager.

Do you think, the Interface's drivers are installed wrong?

i realy have no idea what exactly goes wrong.
The device we have here for testing was working so we have to get in contact with digital enlightment to figure out what could be the issue.
So, sorry if we have no solution right now.

No problem. Maybe it's my mistake. I'm a really newbie at lightning.

I just got my 2x2 Matrix workign with madrix. But i hacked a bit around.

I took the usbdmx.dll from the Projektdownload at digital-enlightment.com and reaplced the DigEnlight.dll in the Madrix Install Dir.

After this change Madrix found my In and Output of my Device. When i closed madrix it crashed.

Anyway, it's an rather stupid action but i was bored. Also it "fixed" my Problem.

Maybe you can take this as a little Input. Check the Changes between the DLLs. Maybe some init Function was renamed or whatever. Don't think that my SOlution really is one.

Here's the Log File. Done before i started doing stupid changes. Also I've not done anything like this when i started this post. Also I'll reinstall Madrix when you give me a fix to try out.

Hi xotix,

thanks for the log.
As you can see in the foolowing three lines MADRIX gets the driver and load it and the driver says to MADRIX there is no device.
54 2012/11/29 19:35:50 DMX Info DigEnlight.dll driver loaded (C:\Program Files (x86)\MADRIX\DigEnlight.dll)
55 2012/11/29 19:35:50 DMX Info Dig Enlight driver loaded
56 2012/11/29 19:35:50 DMX Info Dig Enlight driver found 0 device(s)

So it seams something have changed for the FX5 against the interface we have here for testing.
We already start to get in contact with digital enlightment.
